Much of this
municipality is part of the Natural Park of the Bay of Cadiz
which is characterized by marshes that are flooded regularly by tides and the
abundance of migratory birds.
Farming and Pine forests as well as quarries,
and the Dehesa Algaida of Yeguas Port Royal are worthy of mention. The green of
the Bay township tour takes one through gullies and trails that cross the town,
among them, the two bays green corridor, which connects the two bays of the province of Cadiz,

and the Bay of Algeciras.

The San Pedro
River, streams and canals of the lagoon and marsh
are protected as part of the Ecological Complex in Port
Royal. The municipal district is formed by the Jarana Barrio, El
Marquesado the Meadero of the Queen and the neighbourhood of the San Pedro
River, the latter being the most
populated.
The population is
connected by highway to San Fernando, El Puerto
de Santa Marķa and Jerez, as well as having the
access road to Cadiz
on the bridge Jose Leon de Carranza. A second bridge is being planned and there
is a railway station, with daily commuter local and regional trains.
In town of Puerta
Real has in excess of 40 000 habitants. The township borders the Southwest
portion of San Fernando,
Jerez de la Frontera in the North, Chiclana de la Frontera in the South, Medina
Sidonia in the Southeast and Puerto de Santa Marķa in the Northwest.
