Playa de Los Lances

Costa de la Luz Details

The beaches are separated by the river Jara. This beach is popular and has extensive facilities for windsurfing.

The natural environment of the beach is under pressure from the high use and despite being protected under the Natural Lances beach and within the Natural Park of the Strait, more needs to be done to protect the beach from human movement.

The current environment needs rehabilitation and the natural vegetation and areas are degraded as they are used as car parks for access to the popular beaches.

The beach of Los Lances is located in the town of Tarifa, in the region of Campo de Gibraltar in Andalusia, Spain. The beach has a length of 7250 meters from the Punta de la Pena and Punta de Tarifa and an average width of 120 meters.

The beaches are divided in two areas Los Lances North beach which is a little remote from major urban centres and South Los Lances which on the other hand is close to the populated town of Tarifa.
