Although the area has long been a
popular destination for Spanish tourists, the Costa de la Luz has more recently
become a popular holiday area for foreigners as well, with the most frequently
visiting nationalities being German and French. Unfortunately, with the rapidly
increasing amount of tourism over the years, there has been a considerable
amount of damage done to the local environment.
